PAINTING PORTRAITS WITHOUT A REFERENCE (with voiceover!)
I’m finally getting used to hearing my voice and I think I’m getting past the learning curve a bit, but wow, making this video was rough. Let’s just say there’s a reason I’m a visual artist and not a speaker :) Lost the project twice right before being finished, once due to the program crashing and once due to me accidentally deleting the files (oops) then just forcing myself to listen to my own voice for hours on end was terrible. Losing the files may have actually saved you all from hearing my first couple runs of horrible voiceover though :D Anyways, hope you enjoy this video and let me know if you have any questions or ideas of what I should talk about in future videos! The contrast of the amount I enjoyed myself during the first painting vs. the second is wild. The first took hours and I ended up frustrated and bored, but the second was just so fun! I definitely recommend trying to paint without a reference once in a while just to see what you can do and to play around without any expectations of what it should look like.
