In November 1940, Convoy HX-84 was crossing the North Atlantic from Halifax to Britain with 38 merchant ships, protected only by the armed merchant cruiser HMS Jervis Bay under Captain Edward Fegen. Somewhere beyond the horizon, the German raider Admiral Scheer was searching the Atlantic trade routes for a convoy large enough to strike before heavier British warships could intervene. On 5 November, in fading light and rough seas, the two finally came into contact, when HMS Jervis Bay's Captain decided to make the ultimate sacrifice...
