Mt. Hiei Enryaku-ji Walk 🌿 | Rare View of Konpon Chudo Restoration

A peaceful walking tour of Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt. Hiei, Japan. This video was filmed on May 15 during my imperial mausoleum stamp pilgrimage. I visited the temple grounds of Hieizan Enryaku-ji and walked through the quiet green scenery, temple buildings, and sacred mountain atmosphere. At the time of my visit, Konpon Chudo, the central hall of Enryaku-ji, was under major restoration. Visitors were able to enter the temporary restoration viewing area and see parts of the restoration work up close. Although the main hall was under repair, this made the visit feel even more special — a rare opportunity to see a side of Enryaku-ji that is not always visible. Enryaku-ji is one of Japan’s most important Buddhist temple complexes and is located on Mt. Hiei, between Kyoto and Shiga.
