ନବକଳେବର ୧୯୯୬:Navakalevar or Changing of bodies of Daru Bigrahas in Shree Jagannath Temple,Puri 1996

This episode describes details about Navakalevar festival of 1996 in Shree Jagannath Temple,Puri Normally once in 19 years when there are two lunar months of Asadha the Daru bigrahas of Mahaprabhu Jagannath,Balabhadra,Maa Subhadra and Sudarshan are changed and new Bigrahas are constructed .Such a Navakalevar ritual which spans almost 4 months fell in 1996.In a sudden unexpected circumstances I was posted to Puri District as Collector to oversee the rituals and subsequent Rath Yatra Festival which draws almost 5 millions of devotees to Puri Dham from far and wide within a span of 15 days. With the blessings of Mahaprabhu and everyone’s support the rituals and festivals were managed smoothly and successfully.
