Shomen'uchi iriminage - 正面打ち入身投げ

In this video we present the technique shomen'uchi iriminage. The basic shomen'uchi iriminage form can be learned from a static attack, but the technique works well with dynamic attacks from above the head as well. With this technique we can practice several aspects of Aikido: timing of movement and distance, alignment with the direction of the attacker, inviting the attacker into movement rather then forcing him to do what we want, as well as moving around lines of resistance. The iriminage projection allows the uke to decide if he wants to fall down backwards or turn around and do a forward roll. _____________________________ Durward Burrell - 5th Dan Aikikai Marcin Hernik - 3rd Dan Aikikai Sandra Bridel - 1st Dan Aikikai
