Shomen'uchi ikkyo omote waza - 正面打ち一教表技

In this video we present the technique shomen'uchi ikkyo omote waza. With shomen'uchi ikkyo we start making the transition from static to dynamic attacks. Shomen'uchi is a cutting attack from above uke's head towards the forehead of nage. But in the static version it's actually the nage initiating the connection, moving his arm from low to high. Making both variants possible, shomen'uchi enables the transition from static attack to dynamic attack practice. In both versions the arms of uke and nage simulate the movement of a sword. Techniques practiced with the shomen'uchi attack can be used as defense from attacks with many different weapons coming from above attacker's head. ______________________________ Durward Burrell - 5th Dan Aikikai Marcin Hernik - 3rd Dan Aikikai Sandra Bridel - 1st Dan Aikikai
