Austrian Alps hiking vlog – Stubai High Route in the Tyrolean Alps - Day 8-9 The final stages Day 8 on the Stubai High Route turned out to be another challenging day — with three ridges to cross and lots of ups and downs. I left Bremer Hut on a beautiful morning, descending steeply into a meadow filled with wildflowers before climbing to the first ridge surrounded by towering peaks. From there, the trail dropped sharply through a boulder field and continued along the mountainsides with a few fixed cable sections — not as sketchy as the day before! The views were absolutely stunning, and I was amazed by how green the Stubai Alps were. After two more climbs and descents and another stretch of rocky terrain, I finally reached Innsbrucker Hut — a tough but rewarding 6 miles (9 km). Day 9 marked the final day of my Stubai High Route adventure. I watched a breathtaking sunrise at Innsbrucker Hut, enjoyed one last breakfast (pricy!) with fellow hikers, and began my hike toward Elfern Hut. The weather was perfect until the very end — when a sudden storm had me running to the gondola station. Leaving Bremer Hut in the beautiful morning, a steep dip to the flowery meadow, then ascend to the first ridge surrounded by high mountains. Then, the trail sharply descends through the boulder field. The trail continues along the mountainsides with some fixed cable sections, though not as sketchy as the day before. The views are stunning, and I’m amazed by how green the Stubai Alps are! Two more ups and downs, crossing the stretch of the boulder field, I made it to Innsbrucker Hut. It was a long 6 miles. (9km) The next day was the last day on the Stubai High Route. Watching the stunning sunrise at Innsbrucker Hut and having a last breakfast with fellow hikers. Heading to the Elfern Hut and taking a gondola down to the Stubai Valley to end my journey. It was perfect summer weather until I reached Elfern Hut. I was running in the storm to the gondola station. My 9-day journey on the Stubai High Route comes to an end.
