New Potato Caboose, Mega Mix - Anthem of the Sun, Reimagined

This is the first public showcase of a project I have been working on for the past few months, and will continue to work on for the foreseeable future. Like many fans of the 60s Grateful Dead, I was (and continue to be) amazed by the album Anthem of the Sun. A combination of studio endeavors and live performance, it is a work of musical collage. Beyond the fascination of relistening to the album, I saw the potential in the process of creating this musical collage, and thought the album was not the pinnacle of what could be created with the material available and modern technology. My thesis for this project is to reassemble Anthem of the Sun's Side A and B suites, using all material of the original album, outtakes, demos, and all live performances from late 1967 to the end of 1968, just before the Tom Constanten era, to create a new musical collage using digital tools available to me (NO AI WAS USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS PIECE). It's really an excuse to pull together a mix of some outstanding '67-'68 Dead playing that comes through in iconic concerts, songs, or just moments. This is what I started with, my favorite song of the album; New Potato Caboose. I myself am no producer, but I did my damnedest to turn my vision into a continuous listenable piece. I hope you enjoy.
