The Welsh Chieftain - Vintage Trains (Class 37s) visit South Wales (07/03/26)

My first video of 2026 - "The Welsh Chieftain" charter tour hosted and operated by Vintage Trains. Class 37s (number 240 and 418) were the stars of the tour having worked together down the Heart of Wales line from Craven Arms. In this video, we sight the tour on it's outbound run from Birmingham at Llanharan before making our way over to Cardiff Central to see the return leg begin, with the stock coming from Pengam Sidings in a top 'n tail formation; 37418 then leading the tour back out of Cardiff Central with passengers back on board. Lastly, we head to Newport to see 37240 shunting off the back of the consist back onto the front to reform the double header before heading out onto the Welsh Marches line back towards Birmingham.
