Yoga for the ITB

This is a yoga for runners class, or for anyone else who is suffering with knee pain, linked to over-tightness in the IT Band... Or, as we'll find out, in the tensor fascia lata! The iliotibial band, or ITB, is a long band of thick fascia that runs along the outer thigh. We don't want to stretch it - its tension helps to keep our knee in place when we move. But too much tension is often created when the muscles that it attaches to gets too tight and can cause knee pain.
