Ammerswil (CH - AG) Glocken der ref. Kirche

The church was first mentioned in 1275, which is why the church is celebrating the 750th anniversary of its first mention in 2025. The nave was built sometime around this time in the Romanesque style without a tower or choir. The current tower was added at the end of the 15th century. A four-sided choir was added in 1640. The late Gothic paintings in the Romanesque part of the church are particularly noteworthy. Unfortunately, a large part of it was destroyed during various renovations. Today's bells are highly significant due to their historicity and are at least partially preserved. Originally, the smallest bell also dated back to 1499, but it had to be replaced due to a crack. All of these bells were probably cast around the same time as the tower was built and are therefore part of the original inventory. Data on the bells: Disposition: gis' b' dis'' e'' Years of casting: Bell 1 1498 by Hans I. Füssli, bells 2+3 end of 15th century, bell 4 1948 by Rüetschi Many thanks to the priest for making the recording possible and for accompanying me on this day and I hope you enjoy this recording.
