Antiche pelli. Le concerie di Bosa di Stefania Giacomini
Wandering around Bosa, this unusual Sardinian village, I discovered the Bosa Tanning Museum. This ancient practice provided employment and prosperity to the town's inhabitants. These hides were even used in France to bind precious books. The waste material was also used to insulate homes. Much of the work was done by hand, later replaced by machines. A piece of artisanal history that deserves to be remembered. So many of our outstanding examples are still alive and well.
