Former hostage Elena Trufanova and Nir Oz resident Olga Metzger speak about the events of October 7, 2023. This is the story of the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz, the kidnapping of residents, the tragedy of the Bibas family, and other children. Kibbutz Nir Oz is located in southern Israel, just a few kilometers from the border with the Gaza Strip. On the morning of October 7, 2023, terrorists stormed the kibbutz, killing residents and abducting people to the Gaza Strip. That day, 47 residents of Nir Oz were killed, and 76 people were kidnapped and taken hostage. Among those kidnapped was Elena Trufanova — a former hostage, who survived captivity and the return from Gaza of her son Alexey Trufanov. In this interview, she tells the story of her abduction on October 7, the conditions of captivity in Gaza, and her return home.
