When Samson Played with Temptation, He Lost His Power | Morning Prayer

Samson was feared by his enemies. Untouchable. Destined for greatness. And it took one weakness — one fall — to lose everything. The Bible never tells us we are stronger than temptation. It never tells us to stay and fight it face to face. It gives us three directives — and they are enough: Watch. Pray. Flee. Matthew 26:41 — "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Temptation does not come only for the weak. It came for Jesus. It came for the disciples. It came for the greatest men and women in scripture — and it is still coming today. The enemy has used this weapon for centuries, and he has won more times than we want to admit — silencing destinies, cutting short callings, and leaving people who were meant for great things forgotten.
