Chevrolet Kadett GS 1991 Preto Formal 2.0

The Chevrolet Kadett GS, launched in 1989, was GMB's response to the Gol GTI and Escort XR3. Although it was launched in Brazil five years later than in Europe (and lacked the electronic fuel injection of the European GSI), it caused a huge stir in our market, receiving a great deal of enthusiasm! The Kadett GS proved to be a well-balanced, modern, and refined sports car compared to its competitors of the time, ranking among the best Brazilian cars of its time. The sports version of the Kadett featured many differences compared to the SL and SL/E versions, such as new front and rear bumpers, front grille, hood, 14-inch wheels, side spoilers, taillights, spoiler, and a rear fog light. Inside, it featured a steering wheel, instrument panel, RECARO seats, and standard equipment (most of which were optional on the SL/E). Beyond the aesthetics and equipment, its engine was quite different: It was equipped with a 2-liter, alcohol-powered engine producing 110 hp, along with a short-throw transmission and an exclusive spring and shock absorber setup. In this film, I tell the story of this beautiful 1991 Kadett GS, discussing its competitors at the time, its distinguishing features, and the details of this impeccably maintained model.
