The Audi A5 Sportback Quattro is one of those cars where time seems to stand still... You can drive it for hours without getting tired and remain amazed by its driving qualities. And beyond that, it can be greatly appreciated when stationary, admired like a work of art in your living room. If you buy it, you might move into your garage within the first few days, and if you live in an apartment, you'll probably want one with those garage elevators, allowing you to park this beautiful car literally a few steps from your sofa. Okay, not everything is magnificent about this car... Its 2-liter EA888 engine produces less power than the same engine in other Audi cars with this engine, having "only 204 hp," while the Q3 and Volkswagen Jetta GLI have more than 230 hp. We can't call the car weak, because its performance is far from modest, but considering its dynamic precision provided by the quattro all-wheel drive (in this application, the ultra configuration, predominantly front-wheel drive), the quick steering, the extra-wide 265 profile tires (!!!!) and the low, sporty driving position, you naturally expect its engine to generate more power to further enjoy all this sporty character. Inside the car, the finish is very good, with quality materials and excellent fit and finish. The interior design is classic and modern at the same time, it doesn't overdo it with screens and the lack of buttons that is common in current cars. After this brief experience with the Audi A5, I started questioning the success of the 3 Series in this segment... Okay, the Audi A5 is a "gran coupé," as BMW itself calls some of its cars, but it does everything a BMW 3 Series or a current C-Class does, with the advantage that, compared to the segment leader in Brazil (BMW), it delivers more power and a larger trunk space, in addition to being much more beautiful – in my humble opinion. It's a shame that the next generation of the A5 (already launched) represents a not-so-harmonious union with the A4. This leaves an opportunity for the lucky ones who can buy this car today and enjoy this complete and beautiful package that we have on the current market.
