Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS - PixInsight - Full Workflow - #astrophotography #astronomy #pixinsight

** Note Adam Block's correction on the Integration step in the comments ** Hey there, stargazers! In this video, we're going to dive headfirst into the world of comet processing using PixInsight. We'll start by grabbing some raw comet images and cleaning them up with dark frames, flat frames, and a master dark. Then, we'll stack those images to get a clearer picture of our cosmic visitor. Next, we'll isolate the comet from the background using some nifty masking and integration techniques. To really make it pop, we'll apply color transformations. And finally, we'll put the finishing touches on our image with cropping and noise reduction. So, grab your popcorn, sit back, and come chill with me in my PixInsight rabbit hole! 0:00 - Intro 0:22 - Blink 2:05 - Cosmetic Correction Template 2:17 - WBPP 3:39 - Comet Registration 4:38 - Prep Star Background 5:35 - Dynamic Crop 6:02 - DBE 6:52 - SPCC 7:24 - SXT for Stars 7:52 - Star Background Stretch 8:59 - Clone Stamp Comet Debris 9:59 - Comet Star Removal 10:54 - GAME Script Mask 12:09 - SXT Batch Comet Star Removal 13:33 - Integrate to Remove Stars From Core 15:44 - Linear Fit Channels 17:14 - Dynamic Crop Starless Comet 18:15 - Comet Stretch 19:03 - Lightness Mask 20:11 - Histogram and Curves Transformation 24:25 - Recombine Stars with Pixel Math 25:27 - 2nd Version with Luminance Mask 28:07 - Final Crop 28:33 - Adjust Color with Range Mask 30:29 - NXT and Final Image 31:21 - Credits
