Hello everyone! Between 2024-2026 we traveled to all lower 48 states, then Alaska through Canada, Europe and Mediterranean country and this is by far one of our favorite places in our great beautiful USA. We are glad your coming along with us down on memory lane on these 3 epic adventures especially now that we are sharing one of our secret hidden paradise camping spots for everyone who loves the solitude in pure nature and serenity of magical oddity of rock forms known as Giant dragoon mountains and the BLM near by it in southern Arizona. Our first over night stop was at Love’s travel center just outside of Tucson, Arizona coming from Phoenix, Arizona. 5000 N Sunland Gin Rd, Eloy, AZ 85131. It was big Rv, van and car friendly. With huge area for pets to walk also amazing scenic views of the mountains. Our second stop was at the rest area known as Texas Canyon yes The Texas Canyon in Arizona! We’ve noticed that it was one of the most unique landscapes in the Southwest, formed by millions of years of wind and rain weathering the granite. The Texas Canyon Zipping past it, an hour southeast of Tucson, it’s impossible not to notice the boulders — giant, eye-catching piles of granite, like something out of The Flintstones. But other than providing scenery along Interstate 10 — particularly at a rest area just down the highway from the kitschy attraction known as The Thing — the area has long been off-limits to curious travelers who wanted to stretch their legs and get a closer look, But it’s now open to public and you can go on a free short hike or self guided hike for $12 or and $20 for both the hike and museum tour, but you must get the passes for paid hikes either online or from the museum it self. Our last but not least third final adventure in this video was at The Tombstone Camp is: "Moderately rough road out for non 4x4 vehicle road, but fine going slow. Good spots off the road, fairly private and not too many other campers nearby." "Forest Service Road is smoother but has some deep cuts. Made it fairly easily in small Class A. Nice sites with soft dirt road and sand. Beautiful views of the Dragoons. The Drive Time     •    33 min from Sierra Vista, AZ . 1 hr 4 min from Tucson, 2 hrs 58 min from phoenix, AZ • 3 hrs 37 min from Las Cruces, NM. Our Best Free Dispersed Campsite was near Tombstone, Arizona Multiple dispersed camping locations are out there to pick from exist in the Dragoon Mountains near Tombstone, Arizona, primarily on Coronado National Forest lands. Free primitive camping is allowed along Forest Road 687 and surrounding areas, with sites scattered across the landscape at elevations around 5,000 feet. The Middlemarch Road access point connects to several forest roads with dispersed campsites, many featuring existing fire rings and open spaces suitable for both tent and smaller RV, class A, class B, jeeps and car camping. We stayed near nice gravel road it was little rougher if would’ve gone farther in to the wilderness. The drive to most camping areas requires navigating approximately 10 miles of rough washboard dirt road on Middlemarch Road from Highway 80, followed by additional travel on forest service roads. Many campers report taking 40-45 minutes to travel this 10-mile stretch due to road conditions. While smaller RVs and vans can access the first few miles of camping areas, deeper locations may require high-clearance vehicles. "Washboard road first 10 miles. Then rough sandy road 5 more miles to the area. Many secluded spots," notes one visitor. The U.S. Forest Service enforces a 14-day camping limit in this area, and ranger patrols are common. No drinking water, toilets, or other amenities are available, requiring complete self-sufficiency. The Dragoon Mountains provide a scenic backdrop for dispersed camping, with spacious sites that offer privacy despite the area's popularity. Cell service varies by location and carrier, with Verizon generally providing usable coverage in many spots. Well we have starling  so no issues here. The area attracts rock climbers, hikers, and those visiting nearby Tombstone. Weekend traffic increases noticeably if you’re closer to the highway though campsites remain relatively spread out. Overall Beautiful views and spacious campsites. USFS Coronado National Forest controlled. Ranger came by a day after we arrived and checked in with us." Winter visitors should prepare for occasional snow and cold temperatures due to the elevation.
