AT LASH Day 2 & 3 (Minerva Hinchey Shelter to Rutland, VT)

From thunderstorms at Minerva Hinchey Shelter to climbing toward the summit of Killington, this stretch of the Appalachian Trail tested me with heat, humidity, and tough climbs. I reached the 1,700-mile marker, spotted my first porcupine on the trail, and made the difficult decision to return to Rutland for a much-needed reset after losing my pack cover on the plane trip and falling behind my usual pace.
