Eerste locomotieven voor de ZLSM - Nederlands • Great Railways

The ZLSM, the South Limburg Steam Train Company, uses part of the original railway line from Aachen to Maastricht, also known as the "Miljoenenlijn" (Million Line) due to its high construction costs. After the Maastricht – Simpelveld – Aachen train service was discontinued in 1992, the Dutch Railways sold the Schin op Geul – Simpelveld – Bocholtz-Grens section, as well as the Simpelveld – Kerkrade Centrum section, to the ZLSM. Since 1995, the South Limburg Steam Train Company has used the Schin op Geul line as a museum line to operate a steam train service. The Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund subsidized the purchase of steam locomotives from the Swedish State Railways, and on December 23, 1994, the Swedish locomotives arrived in the Netherlands by ship. The ZLSM also received a concession in 1994 to operate the Schin op Geul – Kerkrade route. In April 1995, the ZLSM train service between Schin op Geul and Kerkrade Centrum began, and that same year, the line was opened by master Pieter van Vollenhoven. ------------- We will be uploading new videos every week, so please subscribe to our channel if you want to stay tuned!
