James H. Dickerson, Ph.D., MBA, is the inaugural Director of the ASCET Center of Excellence at ASTM International, where he leads a national initiative advancing international standards for critical and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum technologies, and semiconductors. A physicist, materials scientist, and technology leader, James has held faculty appointments in both Physics and Chemistry at Vanderbilt University, served as Assistant Director of the Center for Functional Nanomaterials at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and most recently was Chief Scientific Officer at Consumer Reports. His career spans academia, government research, nonprofit leadership, and technology commercialization, with a focus on translating scientific breakthroughs into real-world impact. He is also a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
