In episode two of our series on quantum realism, Jim Al-Khalili talks to three experts who each champion different interpretations of quantum mechanics – the Many Worlds Interpretation, Pilot Wave Theory and Objective Collapse. They are three fascinating ideas and this is one of the deepest debates in modern physics. Each one attempts to rescue reality by offering an alternative to the traditional Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, and giving explanations to the measurement problem.
