Lakeland Trails 55K | The Hottest, Hardest Day on the Fells 🥵

A brutally hot day on the fells and honestly? I was just pleased to finish this one. The Lakeland Trails 55K turned out to be one of the toughest events I've ever done - not because of the distance, but because of the heat. Nowhere to hide out there. 36 miles, over 6,000ft of climbing, and 10 hours 40 minutes of moving time later, I got my money's worth 😆 Two big passes to grind over - Kirkstone Pass (454m) and Grisdale Hause (591m) - and by the end I was running on fumes. Somehow still picked up a handful of PRs along the way, so I'll take that. Next stop: the trails of Chamonix ⛰️ Can't wait for that one. If you're new here, welcome - I'm David, sharing the ups and downs of ultra and trail running from up north. If you fancy following along, hit subscribe and I'll see you on the next one 👍 And to everyone who came up and said hi on the course - thank you, it genuinely keeps me going. 📍 Lakeland Trails, Cumbria ⛰️ Kirkstone Pass (454m) • Grisdale Hause (591m) 📊 ~36 miles | 6,120ft climbing | 10h 40m #LakelandTrails #TrailRunning #UltraRunning #LakeDistrict #Ultramarathon
