The gang has discovered their moms are living together. They have also discovered that hidden cameras are a technology that exists. Dennis appoints himself showrunner. This is going to be a great show. Mrs. Mac and Bonnie Kelly turn out to have genuine chemistry on camera — the kind that involves cigarettes, hot soup, and at least one head stuck in a banister. Dee gets cast against her will. Frank shows up looking for something he left in the attic. Dennis adds a laugh track because, as Dennis explains, a laugh track fixes everything. The show starts getting a little complicated once the subjects find out about the cameras. Post-reaction: Syntell calls this the best episode of Season 12 so far. He and Rekkai break down what makes Mrs. Mac and Bonnie work so well together, dig into the Abbott and Costello energy between two people who should not be this compelling on screen, and argue the line between hidden-camera comedy and reality television — once your subjects know they're being filmed, is it still a show?
