Exploring Lolo National Forest | We Got Stuck & Loki Loved It

We took the SXS out to explore the endless trails winding through the Lolo National Forest. Early-season conditions had other plans though — snow-covered passes and trail crews clearing roads forced us to turn around more than once. But honestly, the ride itself was half the adventure. The mountain views were incredible, and we barely scratched the surface of all the trails waiting to be explored when we return. Not long after arriving at Shyrock, we discovered an issue with Pete’s leveling system, which meant squeezing in some last-minute repairs before the Alaska journey could continue. The EQ leveling pump and motor assembly needed to be replaced, but thankfully the parts arrived just in time and a mobile RV tech was able to get us back up and running with a little help from Roy. Along the way, we shared another fun dinner evening with neighbors and continued getting to know the Shyrock community. With departure day getting closer, it was time to start shifting into expedition mode — loading the SXS into storage, mounting the kayaks and bicycles onto the Jeep, and making final preparations for the next chapter of our adventure north to Alaska.
