寒い海でも手応えあり！1筋に賭けた建網漁

We bring you a report on our cast net fishing career in the sea off Kanzaki, Oita Prefecture. We set out on a cold day. The waters were a bit rough when we set the nets the day before, so this time we narrowed it down to just one line of nets. On the day itself, the sea was bitterly cold, and the nets were tangled in a lot of akamoku (seaweed). Despite the harsh conditions, when we pulled up the nets we were able to see sea bream and some sea bass, and even a large filefish, which we hadn't seen in a while. Even when the seawater temperature is cold, the fish are still hanging on. Even though the catch wasn't many, this cast net fishing experience made us feel that our decision to bet on one line was the right one. Although we worked in the cold, my mom seemed to be having fun throughout, and overall it was a satisfying and enjoyable day.
