Ok, come on, the title to this drum lesson is a complete joke. We've got to have fun with this drumming thing...and the fact is, we as humans want to impress others. But that's not what music is about. It makes me laugh every time I think about this title. But, learning time on a deeper level is something that I think all drummers should do. But not only dissecting time...understanding how we can use what we're learning in a MUSICAL way. So here's a lesson that talks about implied metric modulation...something that you've probably heard your favorite players do. It gives the feeling that the music is either slowing down, speeding up, or moving to a different time signature.
