A. Berg - Sonata opus 1 specially for string orchestra | Amsterdam Sinfonietta

During his time as a student with Arnold Schönberg, Alban Berg composed many sketches for piano. He turned them into the Sonata, opus 1, one of his first 'mature' works. Schönbergs reaction to this was as simple as it was effective: "In that case, you've probably said everything there is to say". The arrangement for string orchestra by Wijnand van Klaveren was commissioned by Amsterdam Sinfonietta and also features on their newest album 'Lento Religioso'.
