Friend of Nature ONLINE SHOP: https://www.freunddernatur.at/shop/ The tour begins with a cycling section from Windischgarsten over the Hengstpass and a cross-country skiing/biathlon center (which is usually also the parking lot) to the starting point of the mountain tour. The mountain tour leads over beautiful meadows and alpine pastures, but also over very steep sections up to the Langstein (1998 m). From there, the slightly more challenging section begins, continuing to the Kreuzmauer. Although there are hardly any climbing sections, the ridge can be somewhat exposed in places, which is why we still consider it a challenging mountain tour. For mountaineers seeking solitude, however, this is a beautiful and worthwhile mountain tour with a fantastic panorama of the Austrian and Upper Styrian Alps. The descent follows the same route.
