Adevărul despre originea românilor (ep.1)

Who were the Vlachs, really? When did the Romanians appear in history? And why have our origins been, for over a century, the subject of heated disputes, radical theories and ideological interpretations? This episode opens a large series dedicated to the history of Wallachia and medieval Romanians, conceived as an audio-visual library, accessible to everyone. We start from the certainties of Antiquity — the Dacians and Roman Dacia — and we reach the key moment when, after centuries of documentary silence, the Vlachs appear in sources: a Romance-speaking population north of the Danube. Without comfortable myths and without ideological verdicts, we discuss: – what we know for sure and what we don’t know about Romanization – why the history of the Romanians was used politically in the 19th–20th centuries – why we are neither “100% Dacians” nor “100% Romans” – how the medieval Vlachs were actually formed – and why historical reality is more complex — and more interesting — than clichés We do not claim absolute truths. We are passionate about history, we work with sources, with the opinions of established historians and with available documents, trying to honestly explain where certainty ends and where hypothesis begins.
