Stephen the Great ruled for 47 years — longer than any other medieval ruler in Romanian history. During that time, he fought 36 battles and won 34. He defeated Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary, who was wounded by three arrows in the back. He crushed Suleiman Pasha, the Beylerbey of Rumelia, with 120,000 men. He stopped Mehmed II — the conqueror of Constantinople — who came in person with the entire power of the Ottoman Empire and returned without a single city conquered. He slaughtered John Albert of Poland in the forests of Cosmin. In this documentary, we follow the life of Stephen the Great chronologically, battle by battle — from the first fight of a 19-year-old young man coming to take back his throne, to the last campaign of a sick old man who refused to cede a piece of land without trial.
