Marville #5 - Atop the Fourth Wall

Welcome to Atop the Fourth Wall, where bad comics burn. In this episode, Linkara reviews the fifth issue of Marville, one of the worst comics ever made! http://atopthefourthwall.com Originally uploaded July 29th, 2013. ORIGINAL INFO: I would rather watch Quest for Fire than read this. Namely because nobody TALKED in Quest for fire. RUMINATIONS: While the fourth Marville review is my favorite, issue 5 gives me just as much to work with. The opening for this one is probably my favorite just for my flawless falling over from being stone drunk. It also has one of my favorite Dr. Cox clip moments – the asinine, bizarre conversation about the attractiveness of the early humans, punctuated by Dr. Cox, flummoxed and with his hands on his head, proclaiming, “This is the dumbest conversation I’ve ever heard.” Since Pollo is in this one and I forgot to address it yesterday, I should note that the Battlestar Galactica #1 review was one of the few times I tried to use Pollo’s articulated beak – the hook behind his head will move his beak to indicate he’s talking. The problem is that because it’s difficult to hide my hand behind his head (and I often will show him from the side), trying to move the mouth like that is more than a little taxing and really unnecessary since even when he got a new voice, it’s distinctive enough that you don’t need to show his mouth moving in any way.
