*DB300 RETURNS TO GRAYS* | Journey On London Bus Route 370 | DW251 (LJ59 AAX)

In the very early stages of 2026 (early January), Arriva VDL DB300 Gemini 2 DW251 transferred from Edmonton to Grays. Originally in South London, it moved to Barking DX after the contract for 175 went from Stagecoach to Arriva. The electrification of 141 and 34 caused the ex Stagecoach Gemini 3s to move to DX and DW251 then moved to Edmonton for rail replacement work before moving again to Grays where it became the first DB300 to reside there since the last ones left GY. We would ride DW251 on the 370 (first day out since transfer) between Corbets Tey and Nelson Road then again from just outside lakeside to short of South Ockendon. This is probably the most unexpected transfer I came across since I thought the days of Grays DB300s were over until this bus came in and did 370. As usual for these VDLs, they feature cummins engines (similar to that of Enviro 400s) and 4 speed voith gearbox. #ForTheLoveOfBuses
