*WITHDRAWN* | Journey On London Bus Route 103 | DW201 (LJ09 KRO)

A journey onboard now decommissioned Arriva DW201 operating the 103 during its days in Grays back in 2018. The bus was new in 2009 for Clapton Garage, allocated to the 38 and 242. It then moved to Grays in 2014 following the arrival of brand new New Routemasters in Clapton to operate on 66, 370 and 103 with the rare appearances on 375 (Though this was renumbered to 6201 at one stage, it was later renumbered back to DW201 again). After Enviro 400s replaced the DB300s (The Enviros are being replaced by Gemini 3 B5LHs), DW201 was then moved to Arriva's rail replacement fleet in Edmonton in late 2025 and operated on rail replacements in and around London but its withdrawal fate was sealed after its engine went up in smoke in Edmonton Garage and will be towed away for scrap. DW201 was known for its 3 panel hopper windows and yellow handles as it was the only Arriva London DB300 (apart from the long gone DB300H hybrids) to have that feature but the rest is what you would expect from a euro 4 DB300 (Cummins 6.7l engine and 4 speed voith DIWA gearbox). I always liked how unique DW201 was compared to the rest of the DB300s but now that its withdrawn, it would be missed. This bus is operating the 103 between Rainham Station and Chase Cross. However, the route now uses Volvo B5LH Wright Gemini 3s and a small number of Enviro400 E40Ds. #ForTheLoveOfBuses
