Sen̓áḵw Building Tour
On February 13th, 2025, ZEBx brought together attendees to explore the leadership of the Squamish Nation in the ambitious Sen̓áḵw development, located on 10.5 acres of Squamish land adjacent to Vanier Park. Held at Revery Architecture’s Vancouver office, the event opened with an engaging presentation featuring speakers from Kasian, Revery, AME, Reshape, and Creative Energy. The team shared innovative tactics used to help Sen̓áḵw achieve the top step of the Zero Carbon Step Code, including a community district energy system, low embodied carbon strategies, principles of reconciliation, and many more sustainability measures. The second half of the event took participants outdoors for a guided walking tour of the development site, led by Peak Construction. This tour offered an on-the-ground look at a development that is setting a new standard in reaching climate goals and housing needs (around 6000 units of rental housing) while putting Squamish culture at the forefront of the building's design.
