Parque Santa Teresa en Uruguay! Belleza de paisajes, playas ,reserva VAMOS???

We continue our motorhome journey and take you to Santa Teresa National Park, a national park located in the Uruguayan department of Rocha, home to the Santa Teresa Fortress. It lies on the Atlantic coast, between the beach resorts of Punta del Diablo and La Coronilla, and is accessed via National Route 9, at kilometer 302. The park features: a granite greenhouse with glass domes for cultivating tropical species; a shade house built with granite columns and a roof and sides made of eucalyptus branches for cultivating subtropical species; a rose garden with over 300 varieties of roses; a semi-natural pool known as El Chorro, built on a small stream and the natural features of the terrain; Self-guided trails with extensive displays of the reserve's flora and fauna; an aviary for the captive breeding of endangered species; its original purpose was the acclimatization of native and exotic animals before their release into the park; and the Santa Teresa Fortress, built for their protection. The aviary, comprised of an aviary and a wildlife reserve, is dedicated to the care of endangered birds, along with other mammal and reptile species. There, birds are assisted in their captive breeding before being released back into their natural habitat. Opposite the aviary lies the wetlands area, inviting visitors to stroll along walkways and suspension bridges, amidst waterfalls, playgrounds, benches, and tables. Here, you can observe various species in their natural habitat, either in different sections or roaming freely: capybaras, otters, wild boars, caimans, deer, turtles, ducks, herons, peacocks, lizards, skunks, rheas, and partridges, among others.
