Metro-North Knicks Shoreliner Consist Tour at Grand Central

Here is a tour of a Metro-North Railroad commuter rail train wrapped in Knicks orange and blue lighting, and decked out with America 250 M logo decals. This was a 5-car Shoreliner consist powered by a brand new Siemens Charger SC42-DM. The consist from south to north is 6125/6166/6155/6138/6170/304, and was fully comprised of blue Shoreliner Is. The train departed Grand Central's Track 34 enroute to White Plains an hour after this was recorded, at 12:14 AM. Notes: •When I started recording, the Knicks were down ten points against the Spurs, 99-89. By the time I finished recording, they had won the game by one point, 106-107. •An M8 to Croton Harmon was on Track 33, while an 8-car M7 consist (4168-4167, 4160-4161, 4249-4248 and 4317-4316) chilled on Track 35. •Metro-North will be acquiring 27 SC-42 locomotives from 2025-2027, in order to retire the P32s and power the Shoreliners over the Harlem and Hudson Lines. The Siemens Charger locomotives are more efficient, reducing airborne pollutants by 85% by running electric from Grand Central to Croton Harmon [Hudson] or Southeast [Harlem] rather than using Diesel Mode from Harlem-125th Street northward.
