In this series called '' Remaking Barnsley'' I will be taking you through the redevelopment of Barnsley town centre step by step, year by year. 2020 saw ''The Glass Works'' site grow and grow month by month. The Mining Heritage statue outside the interchange is relocated to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park so work on a sewer could begin. Deichmann opens to the public. 2021 saw shop fitters move onto site to fit out (Next, TK Maxx & Sports Direct) The public square really starts to take shape with paving, trees and plants.
