Remaking Barnsley (Part 3) 2019 - 2020

In this series called '' Remaking Barnsley'' I will be taking you through the redevelopment of Barnsley town centre step by step, year by year. We start this video at the beginning of 2019 with the demolition of the former multi storey car park and my first visit onto ''The Glass Works'' phase 2 site, this would be the first of many visits. 2019 also saw the opening of our new town centre library (Library @ The Lightbox) and Falco Lounge right next-door. Later on in the year the steel structures started to be erected near the Alhambra. JD Sports, Coffee Boy and the Market Kitchen also opened to the public. 2020 was a strange year for us all as the Covid-19 pandemic took over the whole world but work on site carried on but obversely at a slower pace.
