Your audience will typically experience these emotions along your speech or presentation: at first, they are interested, then they become engaged and involved, and finally they feel motivated or inspired. Here are some questions for audience analysis with the goal of achieving the three emotions: audience interest, engagement and motivation. π AUDIENCE INTEREST: β’ Who are they? What do they care about? β’ Are they attending by choice? β’ What do they already know? β’ What do they NEED to know? π‘ Helps you decide how to open a presentation, come up with opening hooks and introductions. π AUDIENCE MOTIVATION: β’ What are their challenges or frustrations? What is their ideal solution? π‘ Helps you decide which story, anecdote or example to use so your audience can better RELATE to it. Also helps you decide how to end your speech/presentation. π AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT: β’ Do they have any preconceptions or biases? β’ What would they disagree on? β’ What is their likely mood? π‘ Helps you decide your speaking tone, body language and any changes in your energy levels. By knowing your audience, their demographics, the context/environment, you set yourself up for success every time you speak. ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β‘ππΌ Get your free audience analysis worksheet here: https://wordcortex.com/audience/ ππΌβ‘ ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ If you liked this video, you might also like: βΆ How to Organize and Structure Your Presentationβ¦ Like a Hollywood Movie: Β Β Β β’Β HowΒ toΒ OrganizeΒ andΒ StructureΒ aΒ Presentati...Β Β βΆ How to be More Charismatic: Β Β Β β’Β HowΒ toΒ beΒ MoreΒ CharismaticΒ (EvenΒ asΒ aΒ Mill...Β Β ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π¬ Come say hey! βΆ Connect with me on LinkedIn: Β Β /Β anitaramanathanΒ Β Others: βΆ Instagram: Β Β /Β wordcortexΒ Β βΆ Facebook: Β Β /Β wordcortexΒ Β ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ βΆ Anita Ramanathan is a speaker, writer and neuroscientist.
