🏔️ Monte Croce Comelico Pass – Klammbach Alm | Winter hike in the Sesto Dolomites A splendid winter hike in the Carnic Alps, between the Sesto Valley and Comelico, starting from the Monte Croce Comelico Pass. This varied and scenic route passes through woods, forest roads, and well-trodden sections, offering splendid views of the Sesto Dolomites. From the parking lot at 1,600 meters above sea level, you begin by following the main forest road. Those wishing to use snowshoes can take trail 149 just before or after the little church of San Michele. Continuing along the forest road, at a bend, you leave the main trail to take trail 131, which is also wide and well-trodden. From here, you enter a system of well-marked intersections: Trail 131 continues toward Malga Nemes Trail 135 leads directly to Malga Klammbach Trail 132 branches off toward Monte Covolo, then rejoins trail 135. On this hike, we initially followed the direction toward Malga Nemes, then turned left onto trail 135 and then onto trail 133, which leads to the final climb to Klammbachalm (1,944 m). The landscape gradually changes, from snow-covered forests to increasingly open panoramas, with views of the Sesto Dolomites and Croda Rossa. We stopped for lunch at Malga Klammbachalm, where we enjoyed traditional dishes: We opted for dumplings in broth and goulash with dumplings, perfect after a winter hike.
