Strength is highly genetic, and not everyone is gifted at every lift. My squat, in particular, is quite lagging, but none of my lifts are fantastic. In this video, I explain why my strength isn't great, as well as what I'm doing about it. From fiber type to technique to exercise choice to old injuries to leverages to training style to goals to environment, there are a lot of factors, not just for me, but for anyone. I think it's worth having an honest and open conversation about this type of thing, rather than not talking about it. Or worse, faking it. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses. I wish strength was a strength of mine, but it's not. That's something that I just have to deal with, it's hard putting a lot of effort into something and still not being very good at it, but sometimes that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
