Solidarity, clean water, and truth are rebuilding the country! The humanitarian tragedy in La Guaira state has reached extreme proportions. Twenty-two days after the earthquakes of June 24, official reports updated by the Venezuelan regime raise the death toll to 4,820, with more than 17,000 injured and over 20,000 displaced nationwide. Amid the total collapse of public services and the scarcity of drinking water on the central coast, the American Christian organization Samaritan's Purse has deployed an emergency operation in the coastal area, installing state-of-the-art desalination and water purification plants that purify seawater through five complex filtration processes. This initiative is benefiting between 600 and 900 people daily in Caraballeda, distributing 10-liter returnable water bottles for family consumption. Alongside the foreign humanitarian aid, despair reigns in the residential areas of OPP 26, OPP 27, and OPP 33 in Caraballeda. Families and local volunteers continue to chip away at concrete slabs, tile by tile, with hammers, grinders, and their bare hands, clinging to the painful hope of finding traces of their missing relatives. Heartbreaking testimonies, like that of Rafael—who traveled from Maturín and has been sleeping outdoors on the rubble for 16 days to recover the remains of his 14-year-old niece—urgently demand that authorities send heavy machinery, generators, and high-tonnage cranes. They report that the few machines currently operating at the disaster site are insufficient to lift the heavy beams of the 190 collapsed buildings across the country.
