Riverside Park NYC Camera Test | Joggers, Cormorants, River Sounds & Magic Lantern RAW on Canon 70D

In this video, I filmed a simple series of test shots around Riverside Park near 72nd Street in Manhattan, using the Canon 70D with Magic Lantern HD RAW 14-bit video. This was mainly a camera and lens testing day rather than a full walking tour. I was trying different shots, focal lengths and filming styles around the park and riverside, capturing how the area looked and sounded at that moment. The video includes joggers passing through the park, ambient sounds from the riverside, cormorants resting on wooden pillars, traffic moving across a distant bridge, and the calm movement of the Hudson River nearby. It is more of a visual record than a structured vlog, showing the atmosphere of the park through different compositions and perspectives. Riverside Park is a great place for this kind of test because it gives you a mix of natural and urban subjects in one location. There are trees, paths, runners, birds, river views, wooden posts, distant traffic, water movement and the sound of the city in the background. It feels peaceful, but still very much part of Manhattan. This video is really about observing the area and seeing how the Canon 70D RAW footage handles textures, movement, light, distance and atmosphere. The cormorants on the wooden pillars made a good subject for tighter shots, while the river, paths and distant bridge gave plenty of room for wider views and layered compositions. The footage was edited in DaVinci Resolve, giving a chance to see how the Magic Lantern RAW files hold up in post-production. The Canon 70D may be an older DSLR, but with Magic Lantern RAW it can still produce a detailed and cinematic image, especially when filming quiet real-world scenes like this. Riverside Park & Area Description Riverside Park is one of Manhattan’s great waterfront parks, running along the Hudson River on the Upper West Side. Around 72nd Street, the park has a calm riverside feeling, with paths, trees, runners, cyclists, benches, river views and glimpses of the city around the edges. The area is especially good for filming because it has both quiet natural details and distant urban movement. You can frame birds on the wooden posts, joggers moving through the paths, the Hudson River in the background, traffic in the distance, and the layered look of Manhattan beside the water. For this video, Riverside Park worked well as a test location because there were many different subjects to film: ambient park life, birds, water, wood textures, people moving, distant traffic and the changing light around the river. It gave the Canon 70D and Magic Lantern RAW setup a good range of scenes to capture through different focal lengths and styles. Video Notes This was mainly a record of test footage rather than a polished travel video. I was experimenting with different focal lengths, angles and styles to see how the Canon 70D would handle the Riverside Park area in Magic Lantern RAW. The result is a simple visual snapshot of the park that day, with joggers, cormorants, river sounds, distant traffic and the quiet atmosphere of the Hudson River side of Manhattan.
