Wandlore has been studied in the Harry Potter Universe by Ollivander and others for more than 2000 years, yet there are still so many secrets. We know about cores like Unicorn hair, Dragon heartstring and Phoenix feather, which choose a suitable witch or wizard based on how compatible they are with the core’s abilities. The wood chosen for wands, like Holly, Vine, Willow and Yew, are more likely to pick a master with specific personality traits and goals. But are these choices based on fate or destiny? On the wizard or witch’s identity? Or maybe the wand takes a gamble when it sees a certain type of potential, knowing it can change allegiances later if it finds a more suitable match?
