Thanks to the existence of wands, we can learn a lot about a person simply by taking a quick glance at the wand clenched in their hand. Of course, to the untrained eye a wand will appear to be nothing more than a glorified piece of wood- and that doesn’t tell us anything. But fortunately, thanks to the expertise and guidance of Garrick Ollivander, owner of Ollivander’s wand shop in Diagon Alley, we now have the ability to carefully dissect each component of the wand. And with this information, we’re able to ascertain exactly what a certain wand says about a witch or wizard. It’s no exact science, but it can certainly tell us SOMETHING.
