Breachers, also known as breaching technicians, are specialists in opening locked doors and windows. They provide their comrades with access in the shortest possible time using a variety of tools. They clear the way through barriers, doors, and windows that the enemy has locked. Various tools are available for opening them. With their specialized equipment and training, they are able to quickly decide whether the barrier will be breached mechanically, ballistically, or with explosives. Doors, windows, or walls are easy obstacles for breachers. They can be opened mechanically. For this, the breacher has a battering ram or the so-called Halligan tool at their disposal. This is a handy, but approximately four-kilogram heavy, crowbar. At the first end of the crowbar are both a robust blade and a sturdy spike. At the second end, the tool has a pry bar that can also be used as a sheet metal cutter. This multifunctional tool allows for the quick and effective prying open of doors and windows. The bulky battering ram, on the other hand, enables the breacher to exert maximum force on a specific point, breaking the iron latches out of the door. The tool is even suitable for breaching lightweight walls. This allows soldiers to quickly and precisely enter living spaces. Because it is easy to transport and use, it is a popular tool for breachers.
