The Amphibious M3 high-speed floating bridge is the amphibious four-wheel vehicle of the engineer corps. They used the Amphibious M3 to build ferries and floating bridges. With a roadway width of 4.76 meters and a load capacity of Military Load Class (MLC) 60 for wheeled vehicles and MLC 70 for tracked vehicles as the standard load, as well as MLC 76 tracked and MLC 100 wheeled vehicles as the exceptional load, it offers all vehicles a rapid crossing over medium to wide bodies of water. War bridge construction promotes the movement of friendly combat troops in combat operations. The Amphibious M3 has three ramps that connect individual vehicles to the ferry and bridge, form the bridge deck, and serve as an on- and off-ramp. They are installed using a hydraulic onboard crane. Additionally, it is possible to couple several vehicles closely together, thus adapting the bridge length to the water conditions and increasing the buoyancy of ferries. As a floating bridge, the vehicles can be coupled widely or closely together to span the entire width of the water. In ferry operation, combinations of at least two and up to six amphibians are possible, which are coupled together to form a self-sufficient ferry. A 100-meter-long floating bridge can be built with eight amphibians in less than 20 minutes. A ferry consisting of two amphibians is capable of transporting a main battle tank.
