J. Burns Moore playing the Connecticut Halftime
J. Burns Moore was a founding member of the National Association of Rudimental Drummers in 1933. He was elected as President and served in that capacity until his death in 1951. In 1937 he published "The Art of Drumming As Taught by J. Burns Moore." The book contained his rudimental drumming method with instructions for the complete N.A.R.D. list of "26 Standard American Rudiments." He included several traditional American military drum beatings and "contest solos." Among those selections, a solo made famous through its association with Moore, "The Connecticut Halftime."
