Proclamación del Estado Catalán en 1934 por Lluís Companys

At 7:00 a.m. on October 7, 1934, the army of the Second Spanish Republic entered the Palace of the Generalitat (Generalitat) to arrest Luís Companys, the man who, hours earlier, had illegally proclaimed the Catalan Republic, taking advantage of Spain's delicate situation with a revolution in Asturias and a revolutionary general strike that began on October 5, 1934. The battle, so to speak, ended within hours of its commencement. The mastermind, General Domingo Batet, handled the situation with extreme prudence, intending to minimize casualties. These events are known in Catalan nationalist historiography as the events of October 6. 🔻SUGGESTION🔻 You may be interested in these videos related to this Chronicle. ►Alfonso XIII and the Second Republic: What happened in April 1931    • Alfonso XIII y la Segunda República ¿Qué s...   ►The Asturian Revolution of 1934.
